The most popular of our activities we offer are without a doubt the daily wild habituated meerkat tours. (No tours on rainy days & Christmas day).
Meerkats are part of the so-called Shy 5 which also includes the bat-eared fox, the aardvark, porcupine and aardwolf. The meerkat tours last between 2-3 hours and booking is essential. Upon arrival at the meerkat burrows, guests are treated to a hot cup of coffee, after which they are issued with a lightweight aluminum chair to sit in while observing the meerkats as they come out of the burrow into the sunshine and then go about their daily routine of foraging and frolicking. These habituated wild animals are never fed or handled by humans.
Tours are presented by experienced tour guides. It is a fantastic experience & unique privilege to get this close to these little creatures in the wild.
The day before the booked tour, the guides have to go out and search for the meerkats. Upon his return from the field he will then inform us of the meeting point and time…
No children under the age of 10 years allowed as you have to sit very quietly in order not to scare the little creatures. Pictures may be taken So please bring your Camera.

It was a once in a lifetime experience! It was magical in the morning with the sunrise. The informations about the Meerkat that were given were very interesting. I will rember this experience forever. - Cornelia
I attended the Meerkat Tour with my partner and friends. It was one of the highlights of South Africa holiday! To see these animals in their natural environment was amazing! A well organised event! - Simon
What a great experience! This turned out to be one of the highlights of our 2-week trip to Western Cape. There was about a dozen meerkats, and they were not that shy: we were watching them warming up in the sun for almost 2 hours between 6--8 am until the gang finally decided to go hunting. This is not a zoo or any kind of animal enclosure, and meerkats are not fed or touched -- these animals are completely wild, just used to human presence in the mornings. The viewing happens sitting on camping chairs in half-circle around market burrows. Distance is only 10 meters, but since these are small creatures a long tele lens works well (mine is 150--600 mm and I was happy that I brought it). The walk from cars was only couple of hundred meters, and since we had two guides, some participants could leave earlier if they wanted to. It can be a bit chilly in the morning so long pants and a light jacket is a good idea. Our guide talked a lot which was great -- we learned a lot about meerkats! - Ville
We had a great time with Devey with lots of background information while we watched them emerge, one at a time, warm up in the sun and eventually go off exploring They may look cute (they're anything but in terms of cleanliness and behaviour). The family we saw are one of several Devey and the tour team track and show to visitors - they're completely wild and have no interaction with them, other than to track them ... meaning they know exactly where and when to show them off ? - Moore
What an awesome experience from start to finish. Very well organised. Kobus was an amazing tour guide. The team were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Seeing the meerkats up close was so unique. I would definitely recommend this. Great value for money for a unique experience of a lifetime. - Sally
