The most popular of our activities we offer are without a doubt the daily wild habituated meerkat tours. (No tours on rainy days & Christmas day).
Meerkats are part of the so-called Shy 5 which also includes the bat-eared fox, the aardvark, porcupine and aardwolf. The meerkat tours last between 2-3 hours and booking is essential. Upon arrival at the meerkat burrows, guests are treated to a hot cup of coffee, after which they are issued with a lightweight aluminum chair to sit in while observing the meerkats as they come out of the burrow into the sunshine and then go about their daily routine of foraging and frolicking. These habituated wild animals are never fed or handled by humans.
Tours are presented by experienced tour guides. It is a fantastic experience & unique privilege to get this close to these little creatures in the wild.
The day before the booked tour, the guides have to go out and search for the meerkats. Upon his return from the field he will then inform us of the meeting point and time…
No children under the age of 10 years allowed as you have to sit very quietly in order not to scare the little creatures. Pictures may be taken So please bring your Camera.

This is a truly amazing experience. We have done the tour twice and will do it again the next time we are in Oudtshoorn. The guides are very knowledgeable and have developed a relationship with the meerkats that allows you to see them up close without influencing their behaviour in any way. It's magical. - Dean
We had a wonderful experience on our Meerkat adventure tour. The staff were very helpful and pleasant to deal with. The tour and the experience was well organised and executed. Our expectations were low for actually seeing the Meerkats as we knew that they are timid animals and there was a chance we may not see them. However we were very fortunate to experience their morning rituals from a very short distance and felt very privileged to be viewing the Meerkats in their natural habitat and from such a close proximity . The guide on our tour was very informative and extremely interesting as we knew little about the Meerkat and their habits.We appreciated being part of the experience and hearing the details of the life of a Meerkat from the guide. We had our meerkat tour at the end of July. It was a very cold but sunny morning. We were very happy to have some warm tea and blankets. I lost the name of our guide but let's just say that we loved his sense of humor and the way he explained and shared all his knowledge about these funny creatures! Our family laughed so much during this tour and are still talking about the whole experience. It was very interesting and the most detailed info I ever had on one animal. And then to realize that they are very cute the way they wake up but that they are useless. (Still, very cute though!) We admire the guides who are doing this every single day. Their patience with observing the meerkats but also with the tourists who join in the tour is phenomenal! We would definitely recommend this tour for everybody. Especially families! - Herremans

We had a fantastic Meerkat experience and saw the family of 7 on our morning. The first meerkat popped up and was about 2 metres from where we were sat which delighted my son. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and professional, and allowed us to take as many pictures and videos as we wished.
